Liz Busby, BSNÂ
Director of Clinical Operations for Achieve Clinical Research, LLC. Liz is responsible for all clinical operations including site management and all aspects of clinical trial management, prestudy planning, contract proposal and development, investigator development and relations through successful study completion. She has 23 years experience in the medical industry with over 10 years in clinical research and 6 years in the pharmaceutical industry. She has a nursing degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and holds an Oncology Nurse certification.
Anna Burton, BSN
Oncology and InPatient Regulatory Manager for Achieve Clinical Research, LLC. Ms. Burton has oversight of Oncology and Inpatient Regulatory activity. She is the primary contact with Hospital IRB’s and sponsors for regulatory matters throughout each trial. She came to Achieve in 2006, has thirteen years of prior RN experience and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Auburn University Montgomery in Montgomery, Alabama
Melissa Nichols, CCMA, CCRCÂ
Quality Assurance Manager & Outpatient Regulatory Manager for Achieve Clinical Research, LLC. Ms. Nichols is also a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator and has been with the company since 2002. With oversight of the QA department, she ensures high data quality and works closely with Trial Monitors. Additionally Ms. Nichols has oversight on all Outpatient Regulatory. Melissa attended Virginia College in Birmingham Alabama and obtained her Certification as a Medical Assistant.
Shellie Talley
Business Development Manager for the Birmingham, AL site for Achieve Clinical Research, LLC. Shellie joined Achieve in 2007, and is responsible for all new trial activity and PI/Sub-I involvement. From developing new relationships with Pharmaceutical & CRO sponsors to managing the wide range of existing sponsors, Ms. Talley also identifies which of the experienced PIs to utilize for each trial. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse and has over 10 years experience in the medical field.
Ben Trevathan
Chief Executive Officer of Accel Clinical Services, LLC. In this role, Ben directs the strategic direction and operational development of the company. Ben joined Accel at the start of 2006 and brought extensive senior management experience in a number of service industries to our company. Ben earned his MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago and his BA in Economics with Honors from Northwestern University.
Sach Chitnis
Senior Vice President of Accel Clinical Services, LLC. Sach leads strategic planning, acquisition integration and the shared services functions of the company, including marketing, patient recruiting, information technology & business development. Sach comes to Accel with extensive senior management experience from a variety of global service industries. Sach earned his MBA from Northwestern University and his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
India Pezzi
Vice President, Finance of Accel Clinical Services, LLC. India joined Accel in January 2008 and supports all Accel Research Companies and the respective financial activities. She comes to Accel with over 10 years experience at a Fortune 500 Company and several years with a Big 5 Accounting firm. She is a Graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelors in Accounting.
Susan Calandra-Baron
Senior Director, Business Development. In this capacity, Susan is responsible for developing new relationships globally with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. Additionally, Susan focuses on strategic planning for Phase I Clinical Development as well as In-Hospital Clinical Trials. Susan comes to Accel with 23 years of success in the drug development space in a variety of positions from bench through global business development and is based in the North Carolina area.
Kelly Clement
Director, Business Development at Accel Clinical Services, LLC. Kelly joined Accel in 2005 and leads the efforts in identifying and obtaining new clinical research contracts by establishing, maintaining and enhancing relationships with industry sources for clinical trial information. She is the key facilitator for acquiring new clinical study opportunities and maintaining business relations for Accel Research sites. Kelly joined Accel with over 8 years of prior business and financial experience in negotiating and marketing to large corporations.
Kimberly Mantuano
Manager of Recruiting Services at Accel Clinical Services, LLC. Kimberly is responsible for overseeing our bilingual patient recruiting team and marketing efforts.  From developing a marketing plan to execution, Kimberly has oversight on the entire patient recruitment process and ensures qualified participants and flawless results.  Kimberly has over 15 years experience in marketing, database management, and business development for three of the top Fortune 500 companies, as well as the number one financial services provider in the country.
Angela Hammerle
Recruiting Manager at Accel Clinical Services,LLC. Angela is responsible for managing the recruiting call center for all Accel Research Sites. Her team markets currently enrolling trials to potentially interested subjects and then respectively sets appointments for qualified subjects. Angela comes to Accel with over 12 years of clinical and operational experience in the medical industry. Angela brings first-hand knowledge of patient care and medical staffing that enables the recruiting team to consistently apply our strict processes and procedures while providing a great subject experience.
