Do you have severe and uncontrolled Asthma? This disease can begin at any age and unfortunately there is still no cure for it. Studies have shown that asthma tends to run in families, but there are also environmental factors which can trigger symptoms. As we learn more about this disease and how best to treat it, asthma clinical trials continue to play a pivotal role.

If you have been diagnosed with asthma, then you could qualify for a clinical trial at our clinic here in Birmingham, AL. Our friendly staff is looking for volunteers in the local area and they would be happy to answer any of the questions that you might have. Do You Qualify for an Asthma Clinical Trial?

  • Our staff is looking for applicants who have been diagnosed with asthma
  • Applicants with a history of alcohol or substance abuse within the previous 5 years will not qualify
  • Applicants can’t be already be taking an investigational drug or participated in another clinical trial within 30 days of screening at our clinic
  • Should be at least 18 years old to volunteer for a clinical trial
  • Health insurance is not required

Compensation for Participating in a Clinical Trial

Before you decide to enroll in a clinical trial, our staff would like you to know that all study-related care (this includes any required screenings and medications administered) are provided to participants free of charge. Stipends may also be awarded to participants for the their time and any travel expenses related to the study. The stipends vary in amount from study to study.

Asthma Symptoms

The symptoms of asthma can range from mild to severe, meaning what can be just a hindrance for some can be life-threatening to others. Asthma is caused by constricting and swelling of the airways (bronchospasms), making it difficult to breathe, and producing superfluous mucus. Common indications of asthma include:

  • Coughing
  • Wheezing
  • Trouble breathing
  • Pain or tightness in the chest
